The Spare Part You Need Next Month Shouldn’t Be Ordered Next Month

Crusher wear is predictable. The exact replacement date may not be, but wear parts such as mantles, concaves, jaw plates and blow bars will eventually need to be changed.

The problem starts when sourcing begins only after wear becomes urgent.

Downtime changes the purchasing decision

When a crusher is already down, availability becomes more important than price, metallurgy or freight cost. Expedited shipping may be required, and there is little time to compare alternatives.

Planning ahead gives purchasing more options.

It allows time to compare suppliers, review metallurgy, consolidate freight and qualify an alternative source before it becomes an emergency.

Track wear, not just dates

Instead of recording only how many months a part lasted, track:

  • Tonnes processed

  • Installation date

  • Removal date

  • Condition at replacement

Over time, this gives maintenance and purchasing teams a much better idea of when the next replacement will be needed.

A second supplier is also a form of protection

You don't necessarily need to stock every critical part.

But you should know where the next one can come from.

At Bourdin Industrial, we work directly with foundries and manufacturers around the world to supply crusher and heavy-equipment replacement parts.

We are not tied to one foundry, allowing us to look for the right source based on the component, metallurgy, quantity and delivery requirement.

If you have a critical or difficult-to-source part, send us the:

  • Part number

  • Equipment make and model

  • Drawing, if available

  • Quantity required

We can investigate alternative sourcing options before the part becomes urgent.

Because the best time to find another source for a crusher part is while the crusher is still running.
